Cannon 35mm Lens Good For Rebel Xti Slr Digital?

I have an older 35mm film camera with a good lens. Would this be able to be used on a Rebel Xti digital SLR? I would like to save myself some money by purchasing a “body only” XTI .
My old Rebel has a 18-55 lens, and that is the same one that comes with the Xti.
